Version 0.3.10
Version 0.3.10
Some small fixes and balance tweaks this time plus a crash fix relating to Leech Weed Asteroids. Once again, a small update, but adds a lot of things that won't appear in-game until the next larger update I am working towards.
A bug that has been in the game for a while now is the Prospector not working sometimes. It should all be fixed now. It only happened with prospectors, and other items incidentally, that were purchased from shops, rather than found in loot crates. Sorry it has taken this long to get to the bottom of the issue, and please, as always let me know if you find any more issues with the game. On this, if anyone encounters any crashes, it helps enormously if you copy and paste the crash dialog that appears when it crashed, along with a brief description of what you were doing in game when it occurred. It will help me find the issue a lot faster. Thanks!
I'd also like to take this opportunity to talk about the mining laser. It was always meant to just be a fun little thing on the side that you can do to make a bit of extra cash, if you are lucky enough to find both the prospector and the mining laser, and you have the time. It was never intended to turn the game into a mining focused game, but it seems the mining laser has become a must have item, particularly after I increased the scrap generated from enemies, which makes affording to buy the items needed easier. I don't want to tell people how to play the game, you can do what you like as long as you're having fun! But the intention was always to push the player forward to the next system and I feel like mining makes players hang around a bit. I just wanted to put in up for discussion before I made any major changes to see what people thought about it. Is it overpowered? Or is it fine how it is? Discus bellow, or if you prefer you can e-mail me: jrgames.feedback@gmail.com.
Thanks for reading and playing! A follow on itch.io and twitter @JRoberts_Games are appreciated, as is rating the game!

okay, yes i also use the minig laser very much, i only start a round if i have a minig laser in the first stage (ups).
i can see why you want us to use less of the laser, but if you get the laser early, you can get so much more benefits by buying expensive oxygen (if you are lucky in tanks) or repairs (which you usually have to buy in 5% steps, which is also very expensive) or guns. You can even mine o2. But I will try to play without the laser, even if I got the farthest by doing so (keep in mind, you have to level up anyway for better weapons and shields, so if you don't want to die, you'll definitely need some repairs).
a few pther thinks, that are not that important:
i dont now if it is intended, but you can go outside the range of the enemys fire and even see them (that makes it a bit easy, it could also be intended, because you need then way longer and that is not good for you o2)
i dont like the big spray of most of the fast weapons, it is so high you hit more with the sides (it switches in regular intervals? so the only thing you have to do is to adapt your shooting ) than when you point the cursor at the enemy.
if you fly thru the edges of the warp portal, you dont jump
Thanks for the update ^°^
